A7, TCC pin has voltage??

A7, TCC pin has voltage??

85 TA TPI 870 ecm

Torque converter not locking. Parked with the key on I am getting 8.8 volts on the A7 TCC pin. Is this correct??

You will get a voltage on the ECM's TCC output pin. It orginates from the ignition switch, goes through the brake pedal switch, to the transmission, through the TCC solenoid, back out of the transmission, and to the ECM.

The ECM grounds that pin to enable the lockup solenoid.

Yep, I got that ok. I was getting that voltage from the ECM. Figured it had to be wrong so I took the ecm apart. Fried chip on the board. No codes so it must be isolated to the TCC. My next pondering is why did it fry to begin with? Is something bad with the solenoid? Hate to have it happen right away again.
