What to do.
I know that everyone is going to tell me to learn how to burn chips and all that but besides that, I was looking to get the JET six pack chip for my car. What is everyone's thought on this. It would be nice to turn down the car to velet mode, let my brother drive it and think it's slow, then turn it up and kick the crud out of him. That'd be really awesome! What'cha all think would be the gain over using a stock chip?

Since you didn't share any info about your car/motor/trans/rear-gear info, no one can estimate your gain.
If the motor is stock, my guess is the chip would gain you little.

You might see the difference on a dyno or at the track but I doubt the ole butt dyno is going to be able to detect it. You may feel a difference mainly because your brain reprograms the butt dyno to give a false reading, much like that a red neck feels when he has a new set of raspy glass packs put on his pickup.
It may buy you a little, but it's not going to be huge.
Want to blow his mind? put an N2O bottle on that thing and act like its always that fast. You can add an easy 50 hp or 150 in an afternoon.

I got a completely rebuilt motor with some bolt on parts. Rear gear is a POS 3.23 posi. I know, I know, spray it or put in 3.73's but I was just curious what the six pack would do for me other than turn down the power. I want to know how much it will turn up the power.

Maybe 5 ponies. Not much. Get more out of switching all fluids to synthetic. These motors are two touchy, and the ECM is not smart enough that an over the counter chip will do much. Have seen a couple third gen 305's lose a lot of power with the jet chip. Never seen one on a L98.

Thanks, probably not worth the money.
