Edelbrock EFI System

Been thinking for a while of changing my CFI over to the Edelbrock EFI system #3507
I run dart ss heads/2040 cam/1:6rr's/headers/and some other stuff.
I much could I benefit from this?
Also what about my existing ECM? would I loose my dash cluster?

SB Performer RPM Pro Flo EFI System
A complete kit that provides crisp throttle response, unbelievable torque and horsepower, along with flawless cold starting and increased fuel mileage. This kit makes excellent, streetable horsepower thanks to its idle-6500 RPM powerband. Comes complete with throttle body, intake manifold with multiport fuel injection system, fuel pump, system computer, and all related fuel injection and fuel line components. Features complete tuning and system adjustments made from a handy module that can be located within easy reach for quick calibration changes without a laptop computer. Installation is straightforward and can be accomplished with common hand tools.

All you might need is the victor jr manifold(lower profile), rails and injectors, throttle body with plumbing(maybe a 90 elbow), an EBL'd Ham'd GM computer and TP fuel pump. Would not be sequential however. Some day I may go that route. I already have the FP and EBL ECU and the plumbing. Sell off my TBI stuff to recover a couple $$. Plus my dash works!

Re: Edelbrock EFI System

Well I just ordered the ebl/flash from BobR. I already use a 85 vette pump.
I also use the X-ram.
Here food for thought: Remove the X-ram plenum and bolt on a single TBI unit. If memory serves me correct my existing TBI's only flow at about 550 CFM together. The largest TBI I could find with 2 injectors was holley 670 CFM. I would think I could just throw it on.
If I went to a 4 injector unit I'm guessing I would have to put in a couple of more wires for the additional injectors

I have to do a search but if you guys now off hand you could just reply, how much flow can I get using the existing TBI's?

Re: Edelbrock EFI System

something tells me the manifold may need to be machined to clear the butterflies????

Holley sells 700 and 900 cfm 4 barrell TBI units. sequential opening yet the ECU I believe to not be sequential. B4 I would go that route I would give serious consideration to the port FI.

Not sure if Holley 670 2 barrel is better than 7.4L GM TBI unit? I will say the GM is preferred. Mine bolted up nicely using stock vette throttle cable and a Edelbrock adjustable bracket which we ended up riveting once adjusted. I thought the Holley was more difficult to get aligned? not sure on that. I am manual trans with 4+3 overdrive.
