Hunting issue

Hi everyone, long time reader and first time poster from OZ.

I'm running a delco 16183082 ECU with $12.(our 5.0lt GM Holden engine) with T700R4 trans.
This ECU ran the V6 and V8 manual trans series of vehicles.
It is a speed density type system and using the Ostrich 2.0 to make changes with Tunerpro RT.
Thats all the info out of the way...now the issue i have is i finally got around to fitting the inline VSS which puts out 2 pulses per rev wired directly to the ECU.
The vehicle has been running fine pre VSS..ie no stalling issues or weird stuff.
I installed the VSS to operate the TCC lock-up and clean up any other tuning issues that relies on the VSS.
Everything works AOK as before, with the TCC now locking up at the specified speed in T/pro and unlocking as well.
My issue is once the TCC locks up,the vehicle "hunts".
Back off a little to unlock and slowly speed up...its fine, then hold steady to lock and it "hunts"again. ONLY happens when the TCC is locked.
This ECU XDF file still retains all the auto trans info even though it ran the manual series trans.
Any ideas out there????
Thanks for any help...Mario

Re: Hunting issue

Double check that the tune is OK. Ignition system, cap, rotor, wires, and the fueling.

It may also be that the TCC is being locked at too low a speed. Mostly engine RPM is too low for the load.

RBob.

Re: Hunting issue

Hi RBob,thanx for the reply.
What i forgot to mention was that pre-VSS i was running the TCC through a switch to activate the TCC lock-up and it ran fine under high (1400rpm)load or activating it @ 1800rpm.
The instant the TCC locks up the vehicle starts "hunting" and it can happen @ any rev range or load.
It definately feels like the VSS signal going to the ECU is causing this.
I'll have to delve in deeper into the tune and check out any weird settings that i may have missed.
Thanks again...Mario
