tps problem w/ dfi
tps problem w/ dfi
i have installed a gen 7 on my lt1. the computer is not reading the tps sensor. i have checked the placement of the wires and they are right. trying to set the min and max tps volts they read the same. i have a code 23 for low tps volts. any ideas that might help are welcome. thanks
Re: tps problem w/ dfi
What harness are you using? I would triple check the wiring. Check them all the way back to the ecm. There really isn't much it could be. are you positive the sensor is good? Do you have 5v Ref to the appropriate pin at the sensor?
Re: tps problem w/ dfi
tps should have 3 wires going into it, 12 volt power wire, ground, and 5vt ref wire, take a volt meter and test for voltage and ground if you have both then check for 5vtref signal, with the tps plugged it take volt meter and aand touch to bare wire on 5volt ref , slowly open the throttle with vech off and key on, at wideopen volts should be close to 5volts ,closed to be a 1 volt or below, if everything checks out good at sensor then trace wires to make sure there not burnt or broke, if good then bad ecu, if no power at the tps, check wire if that good then bad ecu, if no ref signal then bad tps

Re: tps problem w/ dfi
In case this comes up again, I'll tell you how I fixed this.
Of course I figured this out after tracing and testing the harness, as well as verifying the ECU board was not blown.
TLDR; Disable the High TPS and Low TPS Error codes. Then erase all codes. You should now be able to set the values to the correct setting. There is probably some kind of protection setting that disables the readings if they are out of what is expected.
