Can you simply swap a 305 ecm with 350 ecm?
Just wondering if you could swap a 350 computer into a vehicle that had a 305.. my car came stock with a 305 however previous owner put in a 350.. not sure what is in there right now but if it is the stock 305 computer then am I correct to believe that by putting in a computer that was in a 350 that would produce better/more power results? and then from there i could chip the 350 computer? or can you not just swap the computers that easily?

I think the basic ecm is the same if it started as a 5.0 TB car. If it went from tb to tpi there would be some differences. Or from MAF to speed density, you should be able to tune your ecm. You can buy equipment from Moates or others, I used the Moates products...

On the TPI models, I know that the ecm is same with a different memcal inside.
I assume the TBI is same, don't really know about TBI.

The computers are identical, its the chip inside that is different.

Long shot, but if your old ecm is a 1227165 from a 1989 305 TPI auto, I may be interested in buying the MemCal from you or the whole ECM, if your willing to let it go cheap enough...
