Trans Am 82 ECM

I have a 1983 trans am with a broken ECM, the car has LU5 engine with Cross Fire Injection.
The question is, is there different ECMs for different 5litre engines in 1983, or can i buy any one of them and just change the prom chip ?

I am not sure, but I have an ECM off my 1982 z28 with the LU5 crossfire engine. In fact, the whole crossfire setup is for sale. I don't know why it wouldn't work on your car.

I am pretty sure they all used a 5550 ECU. what varies is the chip(CID-auto-manual). Check Ebay for a used or rebuilt.

I have a 1982 LU5 T/A and found out that it's a one year only thing,The ecm part # is 5555, a ECM from a 1983 LU5 won't work.You can also use a 1982 corvette ECM.

I have had 5 of these from 82 LU5's and had to swap one for my car so I know.
