Tuning supercharged vette datalog inside

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

First, I would like to extend a huge thank you to those that contribute to this board. Its been an unbelivale resource of information for all things related to my car. I would have never been able to complete my superram install if it weren't for some simple tricks I learned here.I havnt posted much but I've read a ton. Let me list my engine configuration.

89 l98 25k since rebuild - stock internals
Super ram
Paxton SN2000 - rated at 4-5 psi (have VR4 upgrade for 11-15 psi once I figure this setup out)
42lb ford green tops
Headers
2 3/4 straight to LT1 mufflers (no crossover)
Moates APU1 (emulator,etc.)
Zeitronix ZT2 wbo2
new plugs, wires, cap & rotor
I installed the superram and supercharger at the same time, what fun!

Well, its running but in need of tune. I'm working on learning how to do this. Unfortunatly the DIY-ECM board appears to be down, so alot of links to info are not available but have been peicie together what I have to do.

I understand about BLM's and how I need to get as close to 128 as posible without the ecm jumping changing to much. At any rate, Im going to continue to read until I get it but thought I'd post my datalog from winaldl incase someone wanted to point me in the right direction.

The only thing I changed was the FI constant "Single fire and Double fire FI Size" I set these to 43.94.

So far, its seems to run really rich at anything but WOT.

Your thoughts and suggestions please.

Also, let me know if it is bad etiquette to post the logs in this format, or even to post them.

Before you go any further, back off on the high load spark advance colums to something like 22 to 24 degrees maximum. Zero out PE spark as well.

Note: I haven't yet looked at your logs, but here is some generally relevent info:

You're likely going to need to reduce the injector vbatt and low pulse width offsets for the 42 lb. injectors. I'd suggest starting with 0 ms across the board for the vbatt offset. This is likely the reason for the rich running.

If you then find that its running globally lean from blm observation, start adding some offset back in. Different injectors may respond differently. I've seen two sets of Lucas 42s that needed completely different settiings to bring the blms and calculated fuel consumption in line.

Assuming that you're still running a MAF, the max maf flow vs rpm will need to be increased. Also, be sure that your MAF will really output up to 255 gm/sec. If not, you may want to adjust the calibration to fudge it a little. You should max the MAF by 4500 rpm or so, if not, I'd be suspicious of the sensor's output.

Extra fuel can be provided in PE up to a point. At AFR targets richer than approx. 11:1, the bpw will be limited to a constant value. Some special changes are required to correct this and permit the bpw to continue to increase for very rich target AFRs.

Send me a PM for additional details.

Re: Tuning supercharged vette datalog inside

thanks for the fast reply!

I changed the following:

Hex code to reflect what you posted for the 6e mask
Upped single and dual fire fi size to 44. Im running ford 42lb @ 45psi
Zero'd out the 5 rows in the PE spark

And thats about all I felt comfortable with at this point. I dont understand how to change the following:

Before you go any further, back off on the high load spark advance colums to something like 22 to 24 degrees maximum.
Which coloum is consider the high load spark. Am I looking at the right item? Spark advance table?

You're likely going to need to reduce the injector vbatt and low pulse width offsets for the 42 lb. injectors. I'd suggest starting with 0 ms across the board for the vbatt offset. This is likely the reason for the rich running.
Is that Injector pulse width vs battery voltage?

Also, I noticed you edited you post today. You no longer show the fix, was I correct in changing it in my bin?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Depending on what ECM you have, you might want to go code59...

http://code59.org/

Basically, a new program for 749 ecm's plus a few upgraded sensors, 3bar Map, wideband 02, then ecu monitors bosst and gives appropriate fuel... has an "auto tune" feature not quite automatic, but a big help.

Im going to stick with the 6e and my current ecm. I do like the idea of changing to a boost aware ecm. Maybe down the road.

But for now, just want it to run right with the larger injectors.

Like i said in my last post, i've done the pulse cap fix and a few others. Need help with fuel map and spark table now.

Not really sure how to go about it. Will continue to search and read, but any help is appreciated.
