I'm sure someone has done this but I havn't seen so I'm posting this now.
When it come to tuning, burning chips and changing chips you have to leave the ecm in the floor or pull it out every time you change chips. I order a couple pieces from Moates and relocated my chip it a place easy to get to.

Some of use use an ECU(EBL) that allows us to flash in the new .bin. I use the Prominator. It has a ribbon cable that I velcro out of way just below glove box above passanger feet. that is attached to lappy when needed. Also there is a bin selector switch velcrowed under my radio that I can select bin 1-7 on the fly or more practical at idle. Bins held internally in Prominator(no chip). a third cable again velcroed out of way is cable for datalogging.

I hate to dig but rather then start a new thread on the same topic I thought I would post it here.
I'm wanting to make a chip relocation harness for my 16197427 pcm similar to what you did with yours. I am thinking an 18 inch cable will be sufficient. What I have already is a G1 chip adapter with a 28 pin ZIF plugged into it and then of course the chip drops into the ZIF. It looks like you used an emulation cable for yours did you not? Looking on moates.net it appears the 18 inch emulation cable has a male PC style cable connector on one end and a male 28 pin connector on the other end. Looking at my G1 and ZIF I can see how the male 28 pin connector of the emulation cable would plug directly into the G1's chip socket where I currently have the ZIF but I don't see any way to plug the PC style connector end of an emulation cable into my ZIF socket. It looks to me like you use exactly the same components I am using only maybe a 24 pin ZIF and emulation cable instead of a 28? I don't see how you were able to connect the PC style connector of the emulation cable to the ZIF. I see you also used the 2 timer but its just a male 28 pin on one side and a female 28 pin on the other. How the heck did you make this work?
