ecm question....
I currently own two 92 Camaros one has a good body and one has a good drivetrain. I am swapping the good motor into the good body. Both cars had a 305 TBI motor in it. However, the good body car came with a T5 5 speed and the good motor car had an auto.
My first questions is: Is there a difference in the ecm's to where I should use the one with the T5 trans in it, or does it matter which ecm I use?
I just purchased a set of Flowtech headers for the motor, seeing as I have the motor out and am planning a stock rebuild.
My second question is : Can I put the headers on and not have to change anything in the ECM or do I have to get a chip for the 92 speed density motor? I wasn't sure if that one change would make a difference.

Re: ecm question....
Both vehicles use the same ECM ('8746). The only difference is the PROM inside of them. Easiest is to use the ECM that came with the tranny that you are going to use. Then keep the other ECM for a spare.
You can use the auto PROM in a 5-speed car, but not the other way around. Note that the PROMs are socketed and can be R&R'd and swapped between ECMs.
The headers will change the VE of the system. Not sure by how much, just see how the engine runs and go from there. As for tuing, most stock tunes can use some tweeking for better results. More so as the engine starts getting modified from stock.
