Procharger w/ DFI Question

I have ran DFI 6.32 on my N/A Camaro for quite some time. I am currently having some issues trying to tune since the Procharger install. Here's where we are at:

1. Car started and idled wonderfully with 1 Bar MAP sensor w/ Procharger.
2. Upon installation of the 2 Bar MAP sensor the car barely starts and will hardly idle. Nothing else changed.

Note* Within the tune in the program, we changed from 1 bar to 2 bar.

I'm thinking that in boosted apps., the fuel and timing maps need to be drastically changed, but we're not really sure where to start. There aren't any universal fuel maps within the program for boosted apps. Can anyone attempt to enlighten me? Maybe a pic of a fuel map on a boosted car. Thanks in advance.

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

ECU is Accel DFI Gen 6 with Calmap 6.32 software.

We created a base fuel map by inputting certain variables such as engine HP, injector size, max RPM and a few others.

It worked great with a 1 bar MAP when the motor was N/A, but now we're having fits tuning it with the 2 bar MAP.

I think the base program may work well with N/A apps., but the operators manual mentions nothing of tuning boosted applications. That's why we're in the dark.....

Hopefully someone will step forward and clue me in.

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

Did you change the ECU setting from 1 bar to 2 bar?

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

Yes I did change to 2 BAR in the programming. Like I said, car started effortlessly and idled beautifully with the 1 BAR, as soon as I put the 2 BAR on, the car would barely start and idle. It seemed way rich on fuel.

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

Have you verified sensor readings? Only played with DFI once, never a boosted app but simple startup and idle should not be overly affected, make sure the sensor is reporting sane readings key on engine off.

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

What type of map sensor is it? Not exactly the same but there was a guy on ls1tech that did the same sort of conversion for his stock ecu, turbo trans am. Every time he plugged the map sensor, it would do the same as yours. Turns out the sensor itself was bad.

Another guy had a similar problem and his turned out to be the wiring was backwards. 2 pins were switched around between the sensor and the harness.

Re: Procharger w/ DFI Question

I would also verify the sensor. Make sure it is not a 3 bar or even a 1 bar. It should start up and run the same as it did with the 1 bar sensor as long as you change the calibration.
