Is there any flaw in this design

I just want to make sure, verfyi no one thinks its the fancy switching ALDL cable I built and is why I can't pull codes?

Are any of these said parts touchy about heat?
Could I have burned them out solidering them?

Can you test the NPN Transistor once the cable is built in some way?

Im using a MPS2222A, all radioshack parts.

Isn't there a way to build a USB cable one yet?

For all I know the com port on the laptop is not working right. [only 1]
Don't have any com port junk to test on it, like an old mouse.

Brain fart, I got a USB to PS2 adapter, for a USB mouse.
Then dig out an old PS2 to com port adapter?

Hmmm

Re: Is there any flaw in this design

Many times the 1-transistor (or 2 transistor) ALDL interfaces don't work. Better off building one based on the MAX232 circuit. Moates.net also carries USB based ALDL cables.

To flash the codes just jumper pins A & B on the ALDL connector and key-on, engine-off.

Your not paying much attention If you see recent post I cannot pull codes jumping the pins.

Have found several post similar and been told by other who had that problem, they were able to get codes using ALDL

As I am not gonna start replacing parts on a guess or whim with out proof unless someone wants to give me some cash when they suggest to just replace the ECM is and they are wrong. As many times in the past throwing parts as this car doesn nothing but burn up cash.
