Re: Engine Management Question

I'm using the big stuff 3 system which I got because I found it to be the best bang for the buck. Granted there are better/different ones out there even if I were to just have more options on mine, but I like it just fine. Tuned myself with some difficulty, but got it going good on my Procharger last year, and that same tune seems like quite a close fit for the turbo I have so far this year.

Re: Engine Management Question

where did you get it from, how much did it cost, and how easy was it to install and use. ive heard of a lot of people using the fast ecu but its kinda pricey formy budget. im just trying to get ideas for other means of tuning it. im already in the process of doing an lt1 manifold mod to get away from the tpi but im not 100% sure on what else to run with the turbo set up.

Re: Engine Management Question

I want to say there's some people using the stock system and tuning on it, but that might be more of the LT/LS crowd. Another reason I went for the BS3 is that you can download the tuning software from their website as well as read through the directions to learn the system well before you buy it. I don't know how involved you are with wiring, but for the most part things are labled and you connect one thing to the other. I got mine from hyperformance racing. I'd say the fast systems seem quite similar in function and price, but they didn't seem to be as informative about their system and it seemed like every single option had its own little computer box that could get messy in the car. I'm not as familiar with the motec or accel sysytems, but a local shop has used both and told me the motec is very accurate whereas the accel comes with a lot more bells and wistles like n2o control and a few others. Oh, and if you get a BS3 I find the in car data recording in the ECM quite informative although not really needed.
