ECM fried?

My ECM won't give the fuel pump 2 seconds of prime when I turn the key. IS there anything else that could cause this problem? From what I understand pin A1 is the wire to give 12v for 2 seconds when you turn the key am I wrong?
  • When key position is OFF the A1 pin/wire (Green or the Fuel Pump control wire) reads .00v
  • When you turn key to ON it goes to .6v, .7v then .10v for approximately 2 seconds then drops to .07v.

Any other things cause this?!?! HELP, I have fallen and can't get up!

Re: ECM fried?

Most likely the transistor for the fuel pump relay went out. This is common and easy to fix. See this thread for were it is located and what transistor can be used to replace it:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/dfi-...swap-ecms.html

Be sure to check the relay coil resistance. A bad relay can take out the x-ister. Also check the wires going into the rtelay socket. Sometimes they are old and dry which causes them to crack and short.

Okay but, my car won't start either even though fuel pump does turn on after I crank it (Oil pressure turns the fuel pump on). I don't think it is sending pulses to the injectors so that is why I think it is fried and I would rather just replace the whole ECM. Is there a way to check to see if the ECM is sending to the injectors?

Re: ECM fried?

Alright, I just realized that the ECM I bought was here today and now I get 12v for 2 seconds on the A1 wire but now I have no spark I'm guessing because when I put fuel into the carburetor it does not start...
