Ive done some searching and still cannot seem to the information i need and dont have the option to buy the manual as i am trying to get a transmission in this car and get it on the road. I believe this may have something to do with the MAF but am not sure. The car runs smoothly, no problems but it is VERY fuel hungry!

According to the friendly Actron Scanner manual
34 is MAF low voltage or MAP low voltage
36 is MAF burn out circuit problems, or trans shift problems electronic trans only, or DIS fault loss of 24X signal or extra missing pulse in the EST
44 is Lean exhaust signal or O2 sensor low voltage or left sensor on dual sensor engine
Have fun these problems are hard without a scanner and book.

so 36 could be caused by my bad transmission?

 

well just took the car to a friends shop, and the verdict is.....i need a new maf


anyone know if one of another vehicle will work? just to be sure

 

I highly doubt you need a new MAF. That is typically the response from tech's that are not fimilar with these cars. A bad MAF generally throws a code 33. Replace the three relays on the driverside firewall, MAF relay, MAF burnoff relay, and fuel pump relay and then disconnect your battery to reset your ecm.

I must agree with the other poster, When my Ses light came on the car ran rough and code 36 developed, i changed both the MAF power Relay (Part MR22) and the burn off relay at Auto Zone. I only ran the car for like 30 minutes but it def. felt different,beats buying a new MAF (about $210) at Auto Zone. The car has also code 44 but this might be because code 36 triggered it. Hope this helps somewhat

 

code 36 won't trigger code 44.....33 and 34 could thought because the A/F ratio will be off thus causing the O2 sensor to read rich for too long or lean for too long causeing an O2 fault.....but yes this does belong in the TPI section
