I am having a 383 built for me and it should be ready shortly. This will have a SuperRam on it. My engine builder said he would dyno tune the engine while it was still out of the car for like $700. I had a new 406 granade on me last year with on 50 miles on it so i dont want any probs this time around. The guy at the engine builder shop doesnt want anything to do with the SuperRam install and he wants to just run the engine up outside the car with a carb. But this will still leave me needing a computer tune when its in the car for the FI.
I'm thinking next time I talk to him I will tell him I'll put the SuperRam on the engine at his shop...I'll bring in the Car computer which has a Prominator in it and I'll also buy a TPI harness off Ebay..I'll aslo have a laptop with tunerProRT on it for tuning. Last time I spoke to him he said he tunes FI Cars via laptop and a FAST setup so I would think he should be able to do the same for me if I supply him with a TPI harness,ECM and laptop/software?? What do you guys think would this work has anyone had there TPI cars tunes on an engine stand type setup at a speed shop out of the car????
