Disabling knock sensor

I have no knock sensor hooked up on my vehicle (TBI 7747). If I try to run an unmodified bin, what happens? Does it think it's knocking all the time (and retard the timing), or never knocking?

With no sensor, but with the filter still in place it won't do anything. IIRC, everything looks OK.

With no sensor and no filter it will continuously report knock, toss code 43, and pull a set amount of timing all of the time.

Re: Disabling knock sensor

Is the filter the external "knock computer" under the dash? In my case the harness doesn't even have a provision for knock. Is it difficult to mod the bin to not do the knock retard? Thanks for the help.

Re: Disabling knock sensor

The knock filter is under the hood or under the drivers seat with the ECM. For the BIN just zero out the two max retard tables, and/or, set the knock enable CTS temperature at it's maximum value.
