Cut wire to ecm
I've got a 1989 RS with a TBI 305. I've been trying to solve an idle issue and was looking under dash to see how hard it was to remove ECM. I noticed that a dark blue wire was cut. Its the only dark blue wire going to one of the pins on the blue connector. Anyone have wiring diagram that could tell me what this wire is for?? Whoever did it taped the cut ends so I'm guessing they did it on purpose?? I just bought the car.

i don't know the color of the connectors off-hand, but if it's the 32-pin connector, it's the TPS signal wire. if it's the 24-pin, it's for VATS.
given that it was cut, i'd lean toward VATS.

Well the car doesnt want to idle right but I would question why someone would cut the TPS signal wire?? I guess it could explain the idle issue but it was taped so again I assume it was done on purpose.

Looks like you may be correct as there is a splice under the dash as well--which from what I'm reading would also be part of getting rid of the VATS.
