Need a new ECM

I have a 89 auto v6 2.8 MFI. I believe I need a new EMC and vac lines. The vac lines I've got, where can I find a decent replacement ECM? The stock is 1227165 but can be replaced with a 16198259 model. Which one is recommended and since I'm having to replace this part anyway, is there an upgrade ECM and is it worth getting. I have found the stock model online for $45, but somewhat skeptic about buying used parts.

You may want to double check which ECM is installed. IIRC, it should be the 1227302. The '7165 will plug in but won't run correctly.
