I am planning on installing a 406 sbc, spec. stock bottom end, with 30 cc dished piston (cast) 5.565 rods, Vortec heads milled .010. expecting compression to be 9.3-1.

Cam specs 230 duration @.50 lift, .455 lift it & ex, 114 angle lobe seperation. elderbrock performer intake & hoping to use rework computer controled quadrajet to flow 750 cfm.

this formula is similar to the impersonator 406 super chevy did some years ago. drive line planned is a T-10 from mid 70's TA and a posi 9 bolt w/ 3.27-1 ratio.

I need to know what the computer controled timing controls are set at? What is the max timing in degress and what rpm is it at. I need 35 degrees and around 3,200 rpm or so. Also what air fuel ratio is the ecm programed to keep.

I was hoping because peak toque is 3,600 rpm and peak horse at 5,100 rpm the stock setting would be useable. Plus the knock sensor would hopefully keep the cast pistons last longer. Building it for cruising & 1/4 mile actions once in a while. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Car has 305 with 5 speed now eng vin code is H now. Engine swap should be in the next 12months.
