my WUD wont flash my bin into the ecu. when i try to flash it says rx time out 2 (or) 1 TxSlInfo failed i am using a gigaware usb to serial cable. my laptop is a dell windows 7. ive searched these threads and downloaded the drivers advised with no luck. the wud display is getting information from the ecu (like when i press the gas. the computer recognizes the cable but it JUSt Wont flash. im ready to pull my hair out.

 

I take it your laptop has no serial port?

 

yep i just bought another cable and it wont work

 

so i tried out the new cable from staples didn't work on my laptop but was lucky enough to find a phone cord long enough to reach from my driveway to my home computer so i could at least flash the car

 

Most likely your USB/Serial uses the Prolific ship set. Common issue among many others with those adapters.

If once you get to the advanced set up dialog there are FIFO sliders then it is a Prolific cable. Return them and get a cable that uses the latest FTDI chip set. Then for best performance lower the latency setting as shown in the link.


I smile when I read that you used a _long_ serial cable and it works. Can't do that with USB.
