Entering the EBL world ***help needed***

ok, Im completely new to the tunning wold and need some guidance.
my car is a 92 camaro 350 tpi with mild cam installed, i read the tutorials on the dynamic efi web page and some of the threads here on tgo but im still kinda lost.

the ebl is already installed and im able to communicate with my laptop, i already try flashing bin in it and they work but heres where my ? mark starts popping in my forehead .

1.- when i try to load any bin i get a malfunction code for the Prom on the malf dysplay, also when i load the bin that looks closest to the setup that i have (EBL_F_3005.BIN), the car runs kinnda sh***ty but when i load the one for a 305 engine (EBL_F_3004.BIN) it sounds like it runs a lil better.

2.- on tuner pro when i try to load the ebl_f_3005.bin it says that there's no bi selected

3.-on the WUD it shows that i have a 1 bar map sensor but i actually have 3 bar, how do i change this

thanx in advance

1. The prom malf is probably when you were getting the flashing working and it failed part way through. As long as the SES is off you are good to go. The stored malf will 'go away' after several good start ups.

2. Are you loading the BIN from the laptop hard drive? And not the CD? The CD install will have placed the files onto your laptop drive.

3. The stock MAP sensor is a 1-bar unit. Unless you are planing on up to 30 psi of boost a 3-bar is not required. Can use a 2-bar for up to 15 psi of boost.

If there is a 3-bar installed, there is an option flag for it:

Option Word 2 - Bit 4 - 3-Bar

Set it for a 3-bar MAP sensor. Which would also explain part 2 of question 1.

yes, when i load bin 3005 from my hdd it says theres no bin selected, but when i open it from the cd tunerpro readst it with no problem.

im using the stock harness for the speed density set up, so it came with a 3 bar map sensor, do i have to change it to a 1 bar sinse im not running any boost?

Can you post a picture of the top of the MAP sensor. The hot stamp numbers need to be legible in the pic.

Not sure why TunerPro can't read the BIN from the HDD. Doesn't make sense. Check them to see if the read only attribute is set.

I keep forgetting about aftermarket parts. I can't ID it from the markings.

I thought of another method of ID'ing it. Set the calibration for a 1-bar MAP (both 2 & 3 bar options un-checked). Then do a key-on, engine-off. On the WUD what KPa does the MAP gauge show?

If in the 90 - 100 KPa range, then it is a 1-bar MAP.

If in the 45 - 50 KPa range then it is a 2-bar MAP.

If in the 30 - 33 KPa range then it is a 3-bar MAP.

ebl_f_3005.bin, that is strange that TP doesn't like that BIN. I just opened it in TP from the same install CD and it was OK with it. This is version 4.14 of TP.

Re: Entering the EBL world ***help needed***

The dc percentage is the injector duty cycle. If idling 3% would be the percent the injector is using

Add some fuel via the low speed VE table. Surging is a sign that it is lean.
