i have a 89 firebird 5.7 tpi i just got this car from a friend it would not start without starting fluid it had been sitting for awhile so fresh gas seamed to take care of that then i got a code for coolant temp sensor, changed that and now i have a check engine light back on it flashes the code 12 three times and the i get 3 quick flashes and i have no idea what that means cant fine a code 3 anywhere. any help would be appreciated.

 

I believe the code 12 means all is well. I dont have my service manual at office but I recall the 3 flashes preclude the trouble codes and appears once again at the end of codes. search code 12....
