I have what sounds like a simple question but cant seem to find the answer.

What are all things that can cause or tell my computer to kill the spark.

Re: 91 tbi help please?

i would first replace the ICM (ignition control module) the one inside the dist. cap . it's not un-common for them to take a dump . (mine left me on the side of the interstate for 6 1/2hrs. on a holiday weekend , talk about fun .) anyway be sure and coat bottom of new module with di-electric grease . it acts like a heat sink . good luck .

Re: 91 tbi help please?

DO NOT use di-electric grease, rather the proper heat-transfer compound normally found packaged with the new module.

Re: 91 tbi help please?

Ahh, well see that is a common mis-understanding.

The product you used was not di-electric, or if it was, you can expect premature failure of the module.

Re: 91 tbi help please?

The stuff I use that I think is better than that silicone stuff is heat sink compound. Comes in a dinky little tube at Radio Shack. Does the job well and lasts. Just an idea for you to play with.
