What resets in the computer?

I am just curious when you disconnect the battery and reset the computer, what exactly does the ECM relearn in the 20 minutes you are supposed to drive it around? I reset the computer today and took it for an easy cruise around town and it drove super smooth and nice the whole time. thanks!

Just a couple of long term fuel trim cells (BLMs).

well, IAC minimum too. that value is a NECESSITY to getting a nice smooth idle.
