CODES!

I am getting really frustrated with this. I have been searching and searching some more to find out how to read the codes. All I've found is how to jump A and B and count the flashes. Ok, I get that.

But Every search has led me to a post where somebody says "I have a cod 49", or "I have a code 20", or whatever the code may be.

How do you get that from the flashing light?! I have not found a list anywhere that "decodes" the light.

Any help?

It's out there, but I'll give you one better. PM me your email address and I will send you a list of codes and how to diagnose them the GM way.

This is how you put it "out there"

Count the flashes. Its kinda like morse code, ... .... .. _ s h i well you know the rest.

The light is about the same way only no dashes
I'll try to expalin code 12 which you will get to start because its from having no distributer reference as the car is not running while you check code.

12, flash flashflash... flash flashflash.... flash flashflash

Not the one flash, that would be a 1. Then a short space and two flashes pretty quickly, that would be a 2 giving 1 2 or code 12.
After each code flashes 3 times like I showed in code 12 the next code will flash for 3 times andd so on. Once you see code 12 again then that is the list of stored codes starting over again.
