Picture of Computer Mounting

Hello,

I was having issues with my car and decided to pull the computer. When I dropped the passenger side cover the computer dropped straight out. I guess some braniac decided to not bolt it back down.

Can anyone post a picture of the computer location and explain how it is SUPPOSED to be mounted?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Josh

I'll put up a picture tonight when I pull my car apart, but there should be one bolt on the back that slips in a groove.

I know my 90 formula has a *** on top which fits into a hole with a rubber grommet that you can see if you get under the dash and look up towards the pad. Then there should be two holes that line up with the off white plastic bracket that the ECM is held by.

That makes sense. Unfortunately the carrier for the ECM is not with my car. I guess I need to buy one............ Any idea of somewhere that would have them?

I cannot believe the car even ran with the ECM bouncing all around.

GM changed the mount over the years. In '92 it was a slide mount. The bottom of the mount has a ledge to prevent the ECM from falling down, with a piece of velcro to hold the ECM onto the mount.

Hit a u-pull-it yard and look for '90 - '92 V6 cars. They used the same ECM as the '90 - '92 TPI cars. Of course if you find a '90 - '92 TPI car that too will have the proper mount.
