I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

I'm a Newbie to all this and I'm trying to figure this out myself but I am getting nowere.

I ordered TunerPro RT and an ALDL Cable that connects to the eithernet port.

I am having trouble with the connection between the ALDL cable and the Computer. Is there a setting on my computer or in the program that I have to change?

I have a 1990 Vette with a 1227730 ECM (5.7 6sp Man.)The Memcal say ARFP

I have loaded arfp8D.bin. Imported Super_8dm2.ecu into the dxf. and A115.adx.
I went into Tools \ Preferences and tried switching the plug-in Configuration but that did not work.

Please help, Thank you

Pat

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

I thought I had it figured out but I guess I also needed to buy the ALDU1 USB converter. For the newbie there's a lot learn. I didn't even make it through purchacing the equipment.

I'm sure there are more requests for information come!
I will try the DYI board while I wait for my converter to come .

Thanks for the reply.

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

ahh that makes sense.. i have the older style cable. so not up on the new stuff.

just stick with it, take your time and tuning your car will most likely be the most fun part of builds after a while. it sucks you in big time as long as you dont give up on it before it all comes together.

just remeber, as big as the car world is. theres only really a hand full of people that do their own building and turning.

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

I'm already sucked into it. It bugs the ell out of me if my car is not running at it's best.
Also the money I will save by tunning my car and not buying those fancy bolt on items that trick the computer into making the adjustments that help make the car run cooler and faster.

Thanks for the help and Have a great day!

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

I think I see what you did...

You bought the "CABL1" (from moates.net), without the "ALDU1" and plugged this directly into the ethernet port on the laptop.

Heh, yeah that won't work, as you've discovered.

You need the ALDU1 to use the CABL1. Once you get that, it will be no problem. I use the same cable.

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

Thanks for the reply Six_Shooter.

Like I said earlier I thought I had it figured out. I looked over the Moates sight for two weeks before I ordered but I still screwed it up. After I look back through the posts I see that Mark (@ TunerPro) mentioned I needed an ALDU1 I guess I couldn't even make it through aquiring the equipment without screwing up. Oh well, I guess this is going to be the first of a long line of errors while I learn and gain experience and lose the Newbie status.

Re: I Need a TunerPro RT Expert

Hi Ronny

I am not exactly sure how to align the Com. Ports. I have the setting in TunerPro under Tools\ Preferences\ DataAcq.\Emulation set to "Standard Serial and Com 3" Is there setting I need to change inside my computer?
