check engine light
Ok cel came on a few months ago but been to busy to get it fixed, took it tto a shop to get checked out and they couldn't get a reading off the ecm, I took a wire and connected itto the two pins and turned the key and this is what I got, these are the flashes I got from start to finish then it just started over again. So please someone tell me what it means because I have no idea how to read it. More than one is the amount of flashes I got. Before a pause. After the last pause it just started back over again. So can someone tell me what is worng with the car. It is a 89 camaro 305 tbi with a 700r4 that's going bad. And the car acts a fool when the comes on, I lose rear end power, gas mmileage, the timing startes messing up and everything, I've replaced the o2 sensor but that's about it and I just rebuilt the engine 1500 miles ago

Re: check engine light
Have your fair share of codes.
12 is normal to have, and should be there
13 is O2 sensor, no activity
22 is TPS low reading (sensor or connector may be bad)
32 is EGR failure, common for cars this age
33 is MAP high error
43 is ESC failure, will pull timing which kills power & mileage
54 is fuel pump relay failure
With so many errors it is hard to tell which ones are real. As a bad TPS can also set the high MAP error. Bad grounds can cause errors, so check them first.
The ESC failure may be caused by running too high an octane fuel.
Fuel pump relay, that can be bad with the age of the vehicle.
I would start with the TPS & MAP. For the MAP check the vacuum line between it and the TBI unit. TPS, check the connector, can use a DVM to see if there are any dead spots in it.
Can also clear the codes (disconnect battery for a moment), and see which code(s) comes back first. Just tackle them one at a time.

Lmfao, I haven't been able to stop laughing since I read this. I had no idea there were so many thing codes all in one. No wonder I couldn't ever figure it out. Thank you so much, now I can finanly get everything right on it.
