383 IN 91 Z- TUNE STOCK ECM OR GEN6 DFI???
So I'm buying Flip2's 383 (dart heads, 280xfi cam and superram) for my car...he's including the gen6 dfi with the laptop and software to tune the motor. I've already talked to josh at js speed(he's only half hour from me) about dyno tuning it after its in car. He says he can tune that combo with the stock ecm. So, I'm looking for opinions on which way to go. My main concern is how much cutting and splicing would I have to do to remove the stock ecm and wire in the dfi? Would it be worth the work involved? And would there be any major difference in tune-ability?

The stock '7730 ECM with the $8D firmware is a tune-able solution. I don't see any reason to swap it out. The '7730 also buffers the VSS and feeds the speedometer and cruise control. And you can retain all of the emissions equipment.
He says he can tune that combo with the stock ecm.
And being familiar with the $8D calibration and stating that he can tune it I would go this way.
RBob.

Thanx for the input. I could probably sell the dfi to get the money to pay him! That's what I was thinking, I just wanted a 2nd opinion (from another tuner).
