EBL Wont Work?

EBL Wont Work?

88 firebird 305 tbi

plug it into the laptop open up WUD and get nothing. car starts but runs like **** and EBL isnt getting any readings. any ideas?

also when i plug the cable in and turn the key to on the screen on my laptop refreshes every 5-10 seconds and changes zooming and stuff. tried all the comports nothing. using the stock cable but have an adapter to change it to a 15 pin because thats what my laptop uses. any ideas?need this up asap

William also emailed me. The 15-pin connector is the external monitor port. Which is why this isn't working and doing what it is.

Solution is using a USB to serial adapter cable. For others reading this, if planning on an EBL Flash ECM, get a USB/Serial cable that uses the FTDI chipset. They work (the one we carry uses the latest FTDI chipset).

A USB/Serial cable that uses the Prolific chipset only works about 30% of the time.

Note that the EBL P4 system has a USB interface. So no adapter required.

Up and running its working great. Rbob has a great product and great service. There's a different cable also. Ftdi and.prolific and one other which is what im using. Trying to find the name now it works great however I can't find the latency settings on it
