ECM LOCATION ON 89 FIRBIRD
was wondering were exactly the ecm is located i took the kickpanel off on the passenger side and ther was a black box was wondering if the ecm is located inside the box and how to remove that thanks

pass side behind dash. Take off the knee pad below the dash, the screws to get to it are behind it. It's mounted straight up on the right side

it was a big black box with three screw do i need to remove that or is the ecm behind that

the ecm may be black if its remanufactured usually not painted aluminum it has two 7mm screws holding its mounting bracket it it mounted horizontal between the passenger dash speaker and dash support brace.

this definitly not the ecm it is a plastic box i took the screw out but seem to still have problems getting it loose i will look later tonight and see if i can find it thaks
