fuel pump has power but will not work! plz help
Ok i have a 1990 Iroc z with 350 5.7. I have traced the wires down from under the dash, the fuses, the relay, and traced the wires all the way to the tank, then checked the wire harness in the tank. They all have power, and at 12v. plus the pump is NEW and is a delphi stock replica. pump still will not come on. I have also tried priming the motor by turning it over and pump will not start. ALL info will be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I am trying to keep the wiring and all stock.

Not sure if the Camaro has the red wire from fuel pump relay but if it does you can hook up power to it to test/prime.
Since you have power to tank I would look at whatever the Camaro uses back there for ground. On the TBI trucks the ground wire comes out of tank to frame.
There's also a possibilty the connections in tank are not good or pump is not good. Just because it's new does not meen it is a working part and could be defective.
I have had connection problems before in tank to pump and when I hit the bottom of tank right under pump it would come on...
HTH!

It has a (3) wire harness that comes off the pump housing and plugs into a plug infront of where the tank sits. Currently I tested it with it plugged in out of tank, and the voltage goes all the way down to the pump but also has discharged power threw the negative wire to the pump harness causing (2) out of the (4) metal hoses to have the power in them. It seems like the positive is touching the negative in the plastic plug-in but I don't see where they are touching in the plug or anywhere else.

sounds like you have a ground problem.
the 3 wires from the sender, one is for the gage, one is power, and one is ground.
my book shows the gray wire to be fuel pump power, pink to be the gage wire, and black to be the ground wire.
if you used a test light to check it, with power to the sending unit and a bad ground, the test light will come on when touched to the ground terminal of the sending unit.
