I believe 85 was digital and 86-89 are analog, all you need to do to get that .bin ready to run is delete your egr check, max the settings and remove the vats and disconnect your ninth injector or the cold start switch.

maybe over-thinking this, but there are a few items that i'm unfamiliar with and seeking guidance (using my original Bin + $32B experience) with which items to modify. Using the stock APYM Bin as my baseline

Flag's:
Analog MAF Meter - should i check or leave unchecked?
That isn't the correct name for that flag entry. It is really the selection of NO or NC for the 4th gear switch in an automatic transmission.

Used by the ECM to select between two different sets of TCC lockup tables.

First drive using $6E: Success!! And yes, I maxed EGR settings, removed VATS and physically unplugged the ninth injector, then plugged in new chip, started it up and drove it around!

I burned both APYM (5.0 automatic) and APYU (5.7 automatic) and did my normal test loop. APYM actually hit knock and 48 deg @ WOT, but recovered correctly and never threw a code; APYU never exceeded my SA tables and never encountered knock. YEAH.

RBob.
I have three different $6E files available to me:
1.) TunerPro = $6E
2.) DelcoHacking = $6E_DelcoHacking
3.) Thirdgen = $6Eexpanded

Both #1 and #3 use flag: Analog MAF Meter in use (HLM) @ Loc 0x14
#2, however, uses 4th Gear Switch N.O. @ Loc 0x14 - and nothing called Analog MAF Meter

I *think* what you're saying is based on using a different mask than what I'm using. Either way, I left it unchecked and it worked.

However....and looking for your experience: none of them have a table for Base Pulse Width (or Injector Pulse Width) other than correction table for battery. $32 and $32B each used this table. Worth using this as a tuning method anymore?

If using $6E code, use any 6E definition but NOT a 32 or 32B.
Do not mix and match there.
That will corrupt your bin and anything can and will happen.

Re: Spark Adv exceeding table values by 20+;1986 $32b, MAF

$6E is an analog MAF only mask. GM then used that same option flag location as the 4th gear NC or NO selection. As long as the TCC looks up at a higher MPH when the transmission is actually in 4th gear (then 2nd or 3rd), then the option flag is set correctly.

The PW based tuning tables went away in $6E. Gone. $6E uses the MAF airflow and calculates an injector PW.

Note that $6E has a lean cruise mode for better mileage.
