Hey guys I want to get a code scanner for my 1985 z28. My check engine light comes on every once in a while and the scanner is also just something to have. would this be the right one and if not can you suggest one? Thanks

OBD1, and that is an expensive paper-clip.

Find the ALDL connector and short pins A & B together. Key-on, engine-off and watch the dash SES/CEL light. It will blink out any stored codes. Code 12 will be the first code and is to be expected.
