Doesn't appear to need a fuse in the fuse box for the fuel pump. Probably why it is empty.

Power to the fuel pump relay is from the orange wire that runs from the battery, through an in-line 20 amp fuse, then on to the ECM & fuel pump relay.

This wire runs along the passenger side fender under the hood. Do a key-on, engine-off and look for the SES/CEL light. If it doesn't light up then either that fuse is popped or the bulb is missing.

RBob.

Re: 86 ta fuse box wiring

i have tried what you suggested but the fuel pump will not come on at all and the gas guage doesnt work either.the hayes manual i have says theres supposed to be a fuel pump fuse in the fuse block second from left beside the ecm fuse and directly above the fuel injector fuses.the pump should prime when you turn key on but it doesnt.when i turn the key on i hear the relay click so im assuming that its working.i will keep looking and i would settle for the pump to be wired direct at this point.maybe time to go to a carb.thanks.
