This might seem like a stupid question, but what sensor in WinALDL monitors the knock counts on an 870 (1985) ECM?

With WinALDL in 870 mode, the "Spark Counts" table is not available.

 

The knock counts is not in the ALDL data stream.

Either patch the BIN's ALDL list to include it. Or use an electrical means. Such as a pulse stretcher and audible or visible alert.

It isn't easy, and so far there isn't any hac's of that ECM's code. In the calibration there is a list of addresses that is used to send data out the ALDL link. They mostly point to RAM variables (RPM, O2, LV8, etc.).

Need to find the RAM location that holds the knock counts, then patch that address into the ALDL table of address.

Wow. So with the 870 ECM there isn't even a way to monitor spark advance? The SAREF column stays at 0 at all times.
