ECM Ground?
ECM Ground?
i have an 86 firebird 2.8 v6 car ran fine check engine light started to flash then died. Went to start it the fuel pump would not kick in and the check engine light would not turn on at all so replaced ecm. Then the car ran fine for 2 to 3 days then i went to start it up again and had the same problems that i had before i replaced the ecm. Check all wiring that i could and all the ground i could find. Need help.

Re: ECM Ground?
Were the connector pins on the original ECM corroded at all. That is a fine white dust or powder on them? If so the harness side connectors may also be corroded.
Another item to check is the main power feed to the ECM. Under the hood is a 20A fuse inline with a heavier gauge wire. It runs along the passenger side from the radiator support and then into the firewall.
Check it to for corrosion.
