Cant keep this car Running! HELP ME!
Hi, I've been trying to get my cousins 89 5.7 tbi rs running for the past 3 weeks and cant get it to stay running.
we have replaced every thing on the throttle body new, fuel pump, new filter Ect.
i've checked the injector with an ohm-meter got power and the injectors and power to the computer inside the car.
ive had it running a couple times but very rough and the moment you give it gas itll die.
it has a vats sensor thingymajig on the key so i assume it has a vats system so does anybody else have any idea about this problem

What caused this car to run so poorly?
Although you have a new fuel pump and filter that still does not mean you are getting enough fuel to run the engine.
Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge while running and attempting to rev the engine? Basic things like fuel pressure and base ign. timing should be checked anytime a drive-ability issue comes up.
-Base timing(est wire disconnected) should be set to 0*
-Fuel pressure at 9-13psi.

it dosnt like to spray fuel all the time when im cranking the engine. so somtimes it impossible get the thing to start. and if does start it will try to idel and die and try to spray fuel after the engine is dead like it wants to keep the motor going.

Sounds like something is wrong with the distributor and/or wiring for it. For the injectors to open the ECM needs to see reference pulses from the distributor (DRP). Could be a bad ignition module, pick up coil, or the two wire pigtail between the coil & distributor. Those are the most common areas of failure.

check the fuel and distributer and had it check by O'Reillys and it passed and she gets spark when i turn the key.
i ran a power wire to the tps sensor and if i turn the key and jump the relay to get more fuel to spray it will run all right but ater a minute it kill itself.
