Using a scanner.

I have a OTC nemisys scanner I use to scan cars with. When I hook it up to my iroc and look at the datastream, the idle kicks up to like 1000 rpm. Is it suppose to increase the idle and why? There is a few different modes when looking at datastream and I know one of them doesnt increase the idle. Cant remember what the modes are right off hand. Just wondering why the idle increases.

Re: Using a scanner.

With the 10K resistor required for the 8192 baud rate, this also puts the ECM in another mode. IIRC, it also adds spark advance when it does this.
