Tunner Pro showing Crazy Knock count

Working on a 93 silverado with a 383 crate motor,Vortec heads and TBI GM intake. Using a Moates cable and box and Tunner Pro to try to make a data log. At first could not get the laptop to connect to the ECM. The good folks at Moates helped get that to function to make the log. The problem now is I get a knock count as soon as I turn the key on ond bounces to somewhere in the 40000 range and stays at whatever reading it is till the key is turned off. The knock retard will show 17.8 not running then go to the 20's after starting. If sensor is unplugged the number may drop a little but still crazy high. Hooked up a Snap On scanner and it showed a code 43 as the plug for the knock sensor was still unplugged. Re connected it cleared the codes and run-no codes, and no knock displayed in data.
This leads me to believe the problem is something not entered correctly in tunner pro but no one so far has came up with a salution. Anything you guys cancome up with would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you had 10k applied on cable when using TunerPRo. It adds about 8.09 degrees timing.

What ECM/PCM? What mask ID for XDF and ADX?

ECM is 16186725 BDJZ
I have looked in Gearhead, Moates and tunner pro and could not find this ECM to get a the proper mask.
the Tunner Pro File I was using that moate helped me get started with is
tunner pro files\data stream\A201_E6_v250.adx
The 10k switch is open and it shows like 25.6 knock retard and 1117 knock count in the last log I looked at?

Re: Tunner Pro showing Crazy Knock count

It may be a replacement PCM, sometimes they have different numbers. $E6 is correct.

BDJZ is for a 16168625. That BCC was also superseded three times! newest version is BLCR.

If the knock and retard is constant it could be a bad knock sensor, wire etc... they go crazy when not connected.

Post a log to look at.
