No communication with the ecm, a running issues when you hit bumps and low serial data voltage.

If your car is tpi do a search on the 870 to 165 swap your engine response is greatly improved the 165 is alot easier to find as a replacement as well.

My car is carbed, will a bad ECM cause no spark if there is power everywhere else?

We removed a spark plug and attached it to bare metal and there was no spark. We tested the coil and the module and both tested fine, we checked the plugin for the distributor and it off and on shows power to it.

Tps tart with verifying power to the hei koeo and crank, then check the primary and secondary coil resistance. Verify the engine ground has good contacts and is secure. Don't trust the parts store testing your icm, if the coil and pickup coil and wires test out good that this is a electrical connection in the dizzy or bad icm. Spend the egtra $ and go delphi or acdelco on the icm even a junk hoard you a
