I have a bbc 402 that im putting a supper ram system on. The first question is I know that in closed loop the system wants to run the engine at a afr of 14:7:1. I think that it will be to lean for my engine setup. I think that idle will be more like 14:2:1 cruise 14:0:1 and wot 12:5:1. The question is can you get a good tune running in open loop? Or is it better to run closed loop and just set wot open loop very low? 40%? Im new to this so I hope that these question don't sound dumb. Thanks

 

That question may be specific for Accel 6. Dont they have their own forum/tech line?

I dont see why you cannot command CL for alternative A/F ratios? Within reason...

 

You should be able to change the values to something other than 14.7:1.

But it will only accept a narrow band signal so anything outside of 14.0-15.0:1 is meaningless.

As described on EFI 101 use a wideband that also supplies a narrow band signal. The Accel DFI 77062 will do that. That'll be the best way to tune that system by far.

 

efiguy is the kit 77062 compatible with the gen 6? Also is it a plug and play or does it have to be hardwired to the gen 6 harness? Or is it a stand alone program?

 

It's pretty much plug n play. It will supply a narrow band signal to the Gen 6 while giving you an actual air/fuel either by a gauge or laptop. It will not make any corrections however. You will have to enter the values yourself.
