i googled the numbers they dont come up with any results to this engine and painless list's different part numbers for the ecm they want for their wiring harness.

Not enough information...

If your f-body is a '88 - '92 TBI that ECM will work. Although, it is a truck ECM. And, it needs to use the PROM that came with it, not the one from the OEM ECM.

For a '88 f-body with TBI, the correct ECM is 1228063

For a '89 - '92 f-body with TBI, the correct ECM is 1228746

If your f-body is outside of this (year or induction type), then the '8062 ECM won't work.

It came with and intake and harness rev bought on a deal. So the ECM is for a 4.3 though?

its not going in an fbody i am putting it in my 62 oldsmobile eventually. just trying to get it all worked out first.

ok. what threw me off was painless ask's for certain part numbers for the ecm's and some of those part numbers match 4 cyl trucks, then you have replacement ecm's so forth so i was unsure.

im going to call painless and ask them if any ecm with that # will work with their harness

It sounds like you are going tpi maf, in that case you would need a 1227165 ecm that was used in s10's 87-91 with a 4 cylinder memcal. The 1227165 ecm if your looking at ebay or the junk yard may show any of these superseded numbers 16198259, 88999194 or 77-7165.

ill probably just go after market harness and ecm make things easier


found a local place for both at 405 bucks and he's close enough if i have any issues i can just take a ride down to see him or have him tune it later
