Please Help. New to the land of Firebirds

I'm good with 1930s through 1960s. I just got a 1986 Firebird (cheep) with the 305 4bbl carb and Auto Transmission but I'm not good with computer cars..

My question is where in the heck is the ALDL for reading Codes. I can not find the answer anywhere. I thought it would be right there under the dash in plain view. But I must be mistaken.

Please help me this amateur of 80s vehicles.

Welcome to TGO. First place to look is on the far left above the fuse block. This is under the dash. If the car has a hush panel there is a access (small door) in it to get to the fuse area.

The other location is just to the right of the drivers knee. Above the edge of the console.
