acceleration

First off, if this is in the wrong forum I am sorry not sure where to post this. I have a 92 Camaro rs with the 305 that I am trying to build into a drag car. I have removed the smog pump, the a/c, the knock sensor, added a Jet stage 2 chip, and hooker headers as well. The problem I am getting is when I accelerate when the car gets to 3000 rpms the tach goes to 0 and back fires, accelerates back to 3000 to 0 and back fires and repeats. I have played with the timing and can get it a little better, but the problem persists. If this right is there any advice you can give? If not what board should I be on or is there any more info you need?
Thank you in advance,
Koolaid

Re: acceleration

Does it do it without the Jet Chip?

Also why did you remove the knock sensor?

Re: acceleration

I plugged the stock chip back in and it ran fine . I removed the knock sensor because it broke when installing the headers. We wanted to the performance out of the Jet chip, any ideas?

reinstall a new knock sensor.

Then try the jet chip although the jet chip may not help
