The Most confused I have ever been, I need some help.

So guys I have been trying to troubleshoot my problem and decided to turn to you guys to help me through yet another problem. My 1990 Camaro is a 350 Vortec TPI installed, this is not a new install the car has ran with this set up. One day I was out driving and my car begin to surge and die, I could start it back up and go about my way. I took the car out the next day and 1 minute down the road it begins to surge again and I couldn't get it started. Finally after playing with the white relay near my B&M Megashifter the car starts again, but is doing the same thing. Affter trying many Radioshack relays I decided to connect the wires together. Currently the car starts in any gear but is still doing the same thing. It starts perfect, idles perfect (have tested this for over an hour) as soon as I begin to drive, things go crazy within 5 minutes, the car shakes shutters and dies. I think this is an ECM problem, I have an 89 Camaro ECM with a Hypertech Chip. Should I spend some money on buying an ECM/PROM and try it? Anyone have any ideas, I cannot pinpoint the problem

Seems it could be fuel or spark related. I would verify the fuel pump is delivering and or filter not clogged. If filter old I would replace. Could be ignition related coil, module or pick up. Would be nice if you could check right after it happens but that be a tough one to time.

Air Fuel And Spark have been ruled out tried a new coil , the car will run and accelerate wonderful for as much as 2 hours , then all of a sudden the problems will start. Then the car will die and won't start back up , sometimes it won't crank , sometimes is starts right back up and dies again

This is where it's very handy to have a scanner. Sometimes the ECM will throw codes, sometimes it won't. But operation data can often uncover the problem. Otherwise, you'll start throwing $$$ and parts at the car hoping to figure it out by trial and error.

One thing easy to do when the car dies, pull the coil wire off and hold it close to the coil terminal (carefully!). Have someone crank the engine over and see if spark is jumping across. If not, you know it's somewhere in the ignition.
