ECM and other fuses keep blowing
My friend has a 89 firebird formula. In Dec the ecm blew & fuel pump fuse & fuel pump relay all blew, recently just put all those in new fired right up after 5 mins the ecm blew again.... No clue he really thinks it's the fuel pump any one have any ideas what might cause this?

Re: ECM and other fuses keep blowing
Check all grounds from frame (engine) to body and frame to engine. Check alternator output with engine running, could be bad regulator. ECM controls fp relay and not fp directly. A shorted fp would blow the fp fuse but is isolated from the ECM by the relay so the fp is "probably" not the problem. Also, check the ECM case to ground, should be grounded to body. If you find the ECM case is not grounded to the body, check your connectors to be sure they are firmly inserted into the sockets and no pins are pushing out. GL!
