I've played with their software, and it seems friendly enough. Thou I haven't personally tuned with one, I watched some guys playing around trying to get a SP car to idle.
A couple of their engineers hang out at www.turbobuick.com
PT+E, in Hebron, IN, is where I'd get one, Harry the owner there is customer oriented.
YMMV

I run one and would not trade it for the world. It is very user friendly. Make sure to opt for the wide band 02. The only cons are losing a few factory ecm functions. But on a car making real power, the little things dont matter.

Opinions will vary on that.

I have a stand alone. I had already gotten rid of the AC, and CC. I didnt mind losing TCC because since I put it in this past June, Ive already killed the 700R4. Something i expected would happen. I am building a TH400 with a brake and wont even need TCC now.

Depends on what you are willing to sacrifice. You can get an adapter harness that will allow you to keep all of that stuff but it costs a little more.

I got mine from Harry @ Precision and paid just a hair over $2k for it. I wouldnt trade it for any other ECU. I can tune it myself. I can change it myself.

It only controls engine functions less emmission controls.I have a piggy-back sytem on mine to control evap. cannister as they check it1s operation at inspection around here. Also, my car has an airbag and Vehicle Anti-Theft System(chip in the ignition key) so I still need the factory ecu.I have a friend with an 88 formula who has done away with it. The car still has lights, wipers, horn and all power interior functions as this harness isn`t disturbed. Speed-Pro will handle the engine.Really cleans up under the hood.Check a service manual and see what is exactly controlled by the ecu. It`s the best money I`ve spent yet.The more I drive it,the better I get my tune thanks to the wide-band O2.Awesome system.
