Car: '86 IROC-Z + Misc. project cars.
Engine: Supercharged + Nitrous TPI 355 CID
Transmission: Art Carr built Th700r4
The easiest way for a beginner to check the basic status of the ECM is in my own opinion to go to a car parts store or Wal Mart and purchase a "code reader" They cost around $20.00 and include the jumper and a book that explains how to use it to Jump the diagnostic terminals to
put the ECM into field service mode, read codes, and it explains what the codes mean.
You can do it for less than 2¢ with a paper clip but then you dont get the book.
Have you tried the basics,
like checking for spark & fuel?
